Jeremiah ne descrive gli sviluppi futuri in base ai progressi che potranno avere le tecnologie abilitanti e le conseguenti stretegie che i brand potranno mettere in campo.<span id="more-869"></span></p>
<p>Per chi non vuole sganciare i quasi 800 dollari(!) per leggersi tutto lo studio, Owyang ha messo a disposizioni sul suo blog una <a href="http://www.web-strategist.com/blog/2009/04/27/future-of-the-social-web/" target="_blank" onclick="pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/www.web-strategist.com/blog/2009/04/27/future-of-the-social-web/?referer=');">buona preview</a> centrata su quelle che lui definisce le &#8220;Five Eras of the Social Web&#8221;:</p>

<p style="clear:both">Il salto di qualità, secondo Jeremiah, avverrà quando i consumatori avranno modo di gestire la identità digitale in modo univoco indipendentemente dal network o le communities di cui fanno parte <em>&#8220;[..]A simple set of technologies that enable a portable identity will soon empower consumers to bring their identities with them — transforming marketing, eCommerce, CRM, and advertising[..]&#8220;</em></p>
<p>In un altro grafico vengono &#8220;schedulate&#8221; le fasi che, come sottilineato più volte, non sono sequenziali ma si sovrappongono l&#8217;una con l&#8217;altra.</p>
